Eggs

Today we have a surprise Guest Recommender with us for Operation Story Share. She is nine years old and goes by the code name, Sunshine. Let’s give her a warm welcome!

**wild applause**

Thanks for joining us, Sunshine. Can you tell my fans what book we’re going to discuss today?

I would like to recommend the book Eggs by Jerry Spinelli.

Eggs? That’s a weird title. In fact, I couldn’t help but notice that the title isn’t even on the cover of the book, only a picture of some eggs! Can you tell us a little bit about the story?

This book is about a girl and boy who first meet at an Easter Egg hunt. Later on they find their similarities and become friends. One of the similarities being problems with their families. Also they both are not very popular and people throw eggs at the girl’s house.

I thought the story was sad because David and Primrose both have so many problems and argue with each other so much. What did you like about the book?

I liked it because Primrose was kind of mean to David at first but she knew she liked him as a friend. And my favorite part was when they tried to walk to the city to see a man that waved to people in cars on the highway.

You’re right, even though they argued a lot, they were friends and they ended up helping each other through a bad time. I liked the way the end was hopeful that things were going to get a lot better for them both.

Thanks again to Sunshine for her recommendation! If you’re interested in a quirky story about how friendship can help you deal with what you’re missing in life, be sure to read Eggs by Jerry Spinelli!
